UWE Bristol International Talent scheme

One in every four non – EU students in UK higher education is from China. Data published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) affirms that China and the UK continue to forge strong ties in the education field.

As universities become increasingly internationalised institutions, the potential and scope for cross cultural collaboration flourishes, presenting a myriad of business opportunities.

The University of the West of England (UWE) recognises the need to promote such collaboration and has set up the UWE Bristol International Talent scheme. The programme aims to provide International Students with opportunities to access UK business and work placement activity whilst completing their academic studies at the University. Students provide an international business asset to SMEs and organisations by supporting with project work and export activity.

The UWE Bristol International Talent scheme enables employers to access a wide portfolio of export services such as translation and interpreting, researching and identifying new markets, liaising with key suppliers, customers and clients in specific markets and providing cultural insight. International Talent is a mutuality beneficial scheme; students hone their UK business acumen and employers are able to capitalise on students’ cultural and linguistic assets. The University has a large International Student population with a significant proportion from China, presenting a wealth of knowledge as students offer a vast portfolio of subject specialism and business expertise.
